Acne Scar Remover - 5 Great Tips

By Max Suther You may have seen people with large, ugly acne scars all over their face. Acne is a skin disorder that affects many people worldwide. Most people are fortunate enough to have the acne disappear as they grow older. Unfortunately, some individuals end up with deep scars as a result of the skin condition. If you are one of these people, you may want to look for an effective acne scar remover. Different treatment methods are available depending on the type of acne scar. One method of reducing acne scars is by receiving steroid injections. Dermatologists will inject steroids directly into the scar which often minimizes their appearance. This method is particularly effective in treating heavy, raised scars called keloids. The steroids activate certain enzymes which then break down collagen which reduce the thickness and redness of the scars. Chemical peels are another alternative for those people seeking an acne scar remover. This procedure involves a dermatologist or doctor applying a chemical directly on the scarred tissue. They will leave it on for several minutes. This method actually removes the top layer of your skin which allows for new, healthier skin to grow and replace the damaged skin cells. You need to be advised that this method is best used for acne scars that are not very severe. If you are suffering from extremely disfiguring acne scars that are having a very negative effect on your self-esteem and well-being, you may consider a more drastic alternative. Plastic surgery may be a viable option for some people wanting to remove acne scars, but this method should only be considered if you have exhausted all other treatment avenues. Besides the regular health risks associated with any surgery, patients run the risk of having their acne return after the surgery is complete. At this point, they will have less layers of skin to work with which may prevent additional surgery. If you are suffering from acne scars, make sure to investigate the many options currently available. Dermatologists will determine the type and severity of your particular scars. They can then recommend methods such as steroid injections, chemical peels or even plastic surgery in more severe cases. Burn Carbs Doing Housework and Chores

By Patricia Zelkovsky One of the biggest misconceptions among women and men is that you need to join an expensive gym or embark on a complicated exercise schedule in order to lose weight.
This is simply not true.
You can burn a substantial amount of calories simply by performing every day tasks.
The key is to perform them with "determination" which means that you are performing the activity continually and with some vim and vigor. Given that housework is a way of exercising that has a payoff for you it is surprising that more people don't do more of it to lose weight. Mainly this is because most women appreciate the social aspects of going to the gym, meeting other people and showing off their work out gear. If all of that is too expensive and a tad too shallow for you, keeping up with your yard maintenance and housework might be the answer to losing more weight without you having to spend a dime on just the right gym membership and fashionable work out clothing! Here is a breakdown of how many calories you can burn by performing some simple every day task.
These calculations are based on an individual that weighs 160 pounds. The more you weigh the more calories you will burn an hour, unless you have to move slowly because of your weight.
Using one of the many calorie calculators that are available free online can help you determine exactly how many calories you personally will burn doing a particular activity. For a person who weighs 160 pounds, participating in any of the following activities for thirty minutes will cause the following expenditures in calories Chopping and splitting wood 288 calories
Cooking dinner 96 calories
Digging in the garden 240 calories
Dusting 120 calories
Grocery shopping 190 calories
Ironing clothes 190 calories
Making a bed 94 calories
Moving furniture 288 calories
Playing with the kids 192 calories
Raking the lawn 206 calories
Shoveling snow 288 calories
Taking out the trash 120 calories
Trimming bushes 168 calories
Washing dishes 144 calories
Washing Windows 144 calories
Watering outdoor plants 120 calories
Vacuuming 196 calories Keep in mind that the above figures represent a half an hour of activity. For instance if you decided to vacuum for an hour, and have a very clean house you would burn close to 400 calories which is roughly the same as doing an hour of aqua aerobics or an hour of playing table tennis. Vacuuming for half an hour is also equal to doing fifteen minutes on a step stair machine or fifteen minutes of circuit training. The benefits of doing housework and chores to lose weight are obvious. Not only will you achieve a slimmer, sleeker body you will have a super clean and well organized house! If you have kids you are even more blessed in the weight loss department. There is nothing more aerobic or that gets your heart pumping than having to chase a bad kid around the house. Beyond the Booth

By Leanne Hoagland-Smith With the advent of spring, trade shows begin to blossom. Research suggests that tradeshows are where todays businesses invest much of their marketing budgets. According to EXPO Magazine, in 2005 revenue expenditures from booth sales will increase 27%! As these shows and conferences continue to grow in space and numbers, the challenge for businesses becomes how to maximize these shows to secure the greatest return on investment both in dollars and time. Define the Goal - Successful trade show marketing begins by first defining the desired end results to be achieved from attendance at the show. This goal should be written using the S.M.A.R.T. criteria Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistically Set High and Time Driven. Sometimes, several desired results are defined such as: identifying potential competitors; identifying potential customers; determining if this is a trade show where my company should exhibit next year; learn what the competition is saying about our product(s), etc. Through these written goals, then decisions can be made as to the number of people to send and what type of people should the company send e.g. engineers, sales, marketing, etc. Without identifying the initial goals, companies will receive costly unexpected and unanticipated outcomes. Ready, Set, Stop! - Goals are set, but there is still more planning before you walk through the exhibit hall doors. Do you know what you wish to learn from each exhibitor? The goal is maybe to identify the competition, but how you operationalize that goal is different for the companys engineer vs. the companys salesperson. Communication: The Key - Given that tradeshows are the "Mecca" for communication both verbally and non-verbally, the key is to be able to deliver in less than 15 seconds what you or your company does. If your tag line is delivered in an engaging manner, your visitor will ask a second question allowing for a dialogue to begin. Communication extends beyond your tag line. Calendars need to be blocked out to return all those promised telephone calls and send out any promised information. Follow-up communication planning is critical to achieving your goals. Creating a post-event mailing piece such as a thank you note and having them available upon your return will enhance goal achievement. The Engagement The Spot Light Is On - The doors open and all eyes are on you and your booth especially if you secured a high traffic booth. You are the consummate professional with the proper tools (business cards, pen, highlighter, Palm, exhibit hall map), professional appearance and your warm, energetic and engaging smile. Now is the time for all that planning to pay. During breaks, you may wish to use the time to walk the exhibit hall to make necessary, legible notes regarding booths, products, etc. Look to those exhibits that seem to draw attendees to them. In case you see old friends, acknowledge them, but dont linger as this keeps you from achieving your goals. At all times, keep your goal in mind so that you maximize your personal resources of time and energy. Before the event closes, check with registration to secure any available statistics such as a count of the number of attendees as well as information on next years event. What's Next - When the doors close and the tradeshow is over, whats next? The answer is simple FOLLOW-UP! Executing follow-up is probably where many businesses fail to leverage their limited resources and secure a positive return on investment. After the event, you begin to build your nurture marketing for each prospect to create Top of Mind Awareness (TOMA www.toma.com). In todays hectic business world, research suggests that you need to touch your prospect 13 times. Your follow-up efforts from phone calls to mailing literature are the second touch. Each 21 to 30 days, you again need to touch your prospect with a postcard, fax, email, newsletter or article. Your consistency during this process is what wins the race and turns those high cost trade show dollars into real sales and increased profits. Keeping track of all sales from each trade show allows you to better determine what to budget for next year. Sometimes this data takes over a year to generate especially if your sales cycle is 6 months or longer. Reserving your space for the same conference for a second time may be based on an overall impression from the first event, but by the third time, you should know if the conference or tradeshow is a worthwhile investment. Tradeshows can be enhance your profitability or turn into another drain on your marekting budget. However, through proper planning and follow-up, you, too, can go beyond the booth. Sell Big Ticket Items Now! - 1 Simple Step To Keep Your Fears From Holding YOU Back

By Chuck Daniel First, some background on today's topic. I've had a terrible week. Not
terrible as in I got nothing done because I did actually get quite a bit done.

But man, I struggled. And I didn't even really understand why.

I have to admit, most of what I got done happened between Thursday and Sunday.

Have you ever had a week like that where you struggled to get things done?

Or worse yet, struggled and didn't get anything done? Or maybe it just FELT LIKE
you didn't accomplish anything?

I hate weeks like that and I rarely feel that way. So why was this week
different? At first, I couldn't put my finger on anything specific. Looking back
and replaying my week in my mind didn't cause anything to stand out either. In
short, nothing really clicked as the cause for the way I was feeling and acting.

So then I decided to do what I always do when I am trying to solve a problem. I
just kinda let it go for a while and did something else.

And THEN, I finally figured out what the problem was!

It wasn't anything specific about THIS week. It was related to something I had
done several weeks ago. And it's very ironic that this was the cause of my
problem.

You see, several weeks ago I had drafted my 90 marketing plan. This document
describes what I plan to do in my Big Ticket Marketing efforts over a 3 month
period.

It's actually not that hard to figure out but it is something that you need to
track closely and see which weeks of marketing effort have the biggest payoff.
In other words, you want to track which things you did that resulted in the
biggest payoff in sales, opt-ins by potential customers, joint ventures,
branding, etc.

Basically all the stuff we need to do to as part of our Big Ticket Marketing
efforts. We want to repeat those things that give us the largest payoff in our
next 3 month marketing plans and drop those things that didn't work out. And of
course we always try new things that we think will work, as well.

Anyway, the reason that I was struggling and feeling like I wasn't accomplishing
this week was because...

I was in OVERWHELM!

I had a lot of tasks I wanted to accomplish, because I'm an ambitious guy. I
want to do well and I have a lot of goals I want to reach. This is all fine, but
the point of having a 90 day marketing plan is so that it will be easy to focus
on the specific set of tasks that I need to accomplish each week by focusing on
ONLY ONE main area each week.

And normally, this system is very effective at keeping me focused. But,
ironically, the act of creating the 90 day marketing plan made me look at
everything I had to accomplish in the next 3 months and I was sort of stuck in
that mode. I wasn't being effective at focusing on this weeks tasks because I
was in OVERWHELM thinking about everything I had to get done, overall.

Have you ever experienced that?

I think we all have at one point or another.

However, I am disappointed that I didn't recognize what was going on sooner. My
background as a software engineer for Microsoft forced me to be pretty
disciplined about focusing on what I needed to do and what our team needed to do
every week to accomplish our goals. And sometimes the ship cycles lasted between
1.5 to 2 years.

Plus I have a black belt in Hapkido (a Korean martial art like a cross between
Tae Kwon Do and Aikido), which requires a lot of training discipline, patience,
practice and long term view. But at the same time requires you to learn and work
on smaller portions of the entire body of techniques, patterns, because that is
the only way you can really learn what you need to know.

Anyway, my point is that I should know better and yet I still fell into the fear
from OVERWHELM. And I think everyone experiences not only overwhelm but other
fears about what they want to do as well.

The title of this article promised you a simple secret to keep your fears from
holding you back - from selling Big Ticket Items. Can you guess what the secret
is?

I'll give you a hint. It's not really a secret at all. In fact everyone knows
about this but unfortunately not everyone knows what to do especially in a case
like overwhelm.

Ready... the secret is ACTION!

Yes, ACTION. Now you are probably wondering... "Hey, wait a sec, you just said
you were in overwhelm, how can action possibly be the secret for that?"

Napoleon Hill, in his book "Think and Grow Rich" said, "Action is the real
measure of intelligence". Thomas Huxley said: "The great end of life is not
knowledge but action." Intelligence means nothing, action means everything.

I knew what I had to do this week and yet I was struggling to do it. I even had
a 90 day marketing plan with each week spelled out for me and yet I was stuck. I
got unstuck when I realized I was overwhelmed and decided to do something about
it. What I decided to do was to take action. But the type of action I decided to
take was influenced by my precious experience both in software development and
martial arts.

Have you heard of Kaizen?

Kaizen is a Japanese word which basically means 'continuous and incremental
improvement'. The word came from when the Japanese were introduced to the work
of W. Edward Deming when he was stationed in Japan to help them rebuild after
World War II. While there, Deming introduced them to what later became know as
Total Quality Management.

What I like about Kaizen is that it takes small action steps over time to solve
problems. The beauty of this approach is that you can take something that
currently seems daunting or puts you in overwhelm and start by only focusing on
one small step that you can take to help improve the problem. The small step is
so easy that you bypass your overwhelm and fears and just do that one small
step. Then after a little while you introduce another small step and
continuously improve the situation or problem until it is solved.

So in this way you CAN take action, even if it is very small, and slowly over
time each action you take has an effect that builds on all the others and
creates an unstoppable force until your problem has been solved. The fact that
the action is so small makes it easy for you to do SOMETHING and not focus on
how much you have to do.

Maybe a short example will help. One of my goals is to increase the readership
of my articles and to get more people exciting about Big Ticket Marketing. One
of the best ways to do that is to get my blog and my articles out to as many
readers as I can. So this week, I wanted to get my Blog and my articles listed
in as many E-zine and Electronic List directories as possible. I even have
software to help me do this.

Guess how many directories and list locations there are?

Well... there are over 1000 just in the built in database in the software I am
using.

I kept putting this off, because I had a bunch of other stuff I needed to get
done as well. But this was a major focus for me this week. Finally, what I
decided to do was to just add my information to ONE directory or list every time
I finished another task. Breaking it down so that I only had to worry about one
entry every so often REALLY helped me make some progress in this area, without
worrying about how many there were.

I still have a long way to go, but my initial goal was to get listed in 20-25
sites and I'm currently sitting at 17. A few more sites and I will have met my
goal!

Plus, Kaizen is really how I study martial arts so the process is very familiar
to me even when applied to something else.

Ok, so the one 1 simple step you need to take anytime you have a fear to conquer
or an overwhelming situation to deal with is to decide on one simple action that
you can do in a very short amount of time that will ultimately help you solve
your problem. Do this, and then increase what you are doing in that area by a
little bit each time and before you know it you will have your problem solved.

Try this! It works amazingly well with very little effort. And you get a huge
amount of satisfaction knowing that you are taking steps to accomplish what you
want to get done... and you'll be doing it almost effortlessly.

By the way, if you want a great little resource on how to apply Kaizen, you
should get The Kaizen Way - One Small Step Can Change Your Life by Robert
Maurer. It's a relatively recent book and a quick read at 182 pages. You can
find it on Amazon or at Barnes and Noble online. Maybe this is your first small
action step.

Speedy Funds Available with Instant Loans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Steve_C_Clark]Steve C Clark Has misfortune knocked at your door! No worries please. Instant loans are knocking otherwise. It is acting as the saviour and helps in shedding of your unwanted worries. It can happen to anybody irrespective of how good you are at managing your accounts. A mixed bag of bad luck can leave you glaring at your depleting bank balance because a pending medical bill, tuition fees, grocery bills, and an unending list of expenses are waiting to be repaid. As they say opportunity knocks at everybodys door. Instant loans provide the right opportunity. Rightly, some questions are left to be answered. What are instant loans?
Instant loans are short term unsecured loans. No collateral is required; that makes it easily accessible to anyone. Tenants or non homeowners are provided with the opportunity to procure instant loans to meet their pending bills. Are instant loans readily available?
Obviously yes! Since no collateral is required, no paper work is required, therefore the time taken for disbursal of the loan is very less. In fact, the loan amount can be disbursed within 24 to 48 hours. Online processing also helps in its faster procurement. What is the range of loan amount?
Instant loans are always needed to meet small pending bills. Therefore the loan amount is in the range of 50 to 500. Depending upon the requirement of the customer the loan amount will increase. What about the interest rate and the repayment terms?
Instant loans are a type of unsecured loan for which no collateral is required. This acts as a security, which can be further liquidated if one fails to payback. Further an added advantage of instant loans is that it does not look into your credit history. This means an extra risk for the lending agency. This means that the interest rates are meant to be higher and the loan repayment spans to a fortnight. Still instant loans are always the borrowers paradise as these help during the emergencies. Studying the various features and advantages of instant loans makes them very attractive. And the borrower can search through websites providing these loans. But you should be cautious while selecting the right lender. At times, the website can emerge as a fake one. Therefore while contemplating an instant loan, a thorough research is very necessary. Interest rates may also vary depending on the websites providing instant loans. Since there is no harm in taking instant loans, we should not worry for the debts and immediately replenish the immediate expenses with the funds received through this loan. Cash Advance And How To Use It Correctly

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Rick_Crawford]Rick Crawford Cash advances are provided as a solution to a temporary financial burden. They are available for people who are faced with existing cash problems but have the capacity to ultimately comply with the repayment schemes mandated by the releasing company. In principle, they are not available for people who have a long term financial loss who may need longer repayment periods. Neither are cash advances available for a non-essential purpose. For whatever a cash advance is availed, one should spend it to where it is intended. If you are getting a cash advance to pay household bills, then one should use the advanced amount for the compliance of this purpose alone. If you decide to forego payment of your bill despite the availed cash advance, one may end up on a double jeopardy. You have incurred a debt from the cash advance company, yet you have not paid your household bill. Now youre faced with two financial problems instead of one. Cash advance companies do not necessarily care what you use with the money released to you as long as you pay the loan back on the agreed time and schedule laid out in your signed contract. It is however imperative that you use the money availed from the cash advance wisely. When one refuses to use your cash advance for its particular purpose, then you may end up deepening your own financial hole to pay up for other unsettled debts and thereby avail of a bigger cash advance or loan. It is very unwise to take out a cash advance and spend it ruthlessly considering the rate of interest that is added on top of the principal amount that most cash advance credit companies make profit of. The perils of a deepening financial mess usually end up with a legal suit or acquisition of your personal valuables to pay off your outstanding debts... LCD HD TV's are gifts that any sports or home theater fan would love to have. With the FCC changing the standards in the next few years, it will almost be a necessity to have one. Besides all of this techie talk, guy's like seeing things clear and huge on a vivid and crisp television. If you're lover is a music fan, one of the top music related gifts is a Apple Ipod Video. No longer are these gadgets just good for listening to MP3's. Now you could watch music videos, movie clips, and even see pictures from your digital camera. Have you heard of the Nintendo Wii's? If he's a video gaming kind of guy, he probably didn't get this for Christmas as it was very hard to get. Nowadays, they're popping up on online shops all over the place. Besides just playing games, these Nintendo Wii's give a workout since physical movement is necessary to play the games on it. A watch is always a great gift. Think about why style he has. Is he a sporty kind of guy? Is he into high fashion? You must answer these questions first, as he might want a Casio watch over a fashionable Movado. Now you don't have to spend a lot of money to make him happy. A classic leather wallet might do the trick. Take a look at his wallet. Is it all worn out with coins or bills just ready to burst out? This might be the romantic gift idea that might get his sparks flying. Charlene Lee is a contributor to

Too Busy To Exercise

By Karl Warren So, you want to exercise but you think that you just don't have the time. Hey, you're busy with the spouse and kids and activities and work and... The list just keeps going on and on... But that's ok. I'm going to give you some ideas that will allow you to still lose weight and feel healthier while maintaining your busy lifestyle. Let's take a look at them now. First, try to incorporate supplements into your diet. There are many different kinds of supplements available for you to choose from, so the next time that you're at the mall or the grocery store, take a look at what's available and determine how they can help you to lose weight and also give you higher energy levels. Second, eat smaller meals more frequently during the day. Ever sat down at lunch, ate too much, and then were miserable during the rest of your busy day? Avoid doing this by eating smaller, healthier meals and snack when you are hungry. This is one of the easiest ways to ignite your metabolism and keep your energy levels high so that you are able to burn fat during the day naturally. Third, try to relax! Try to avoid any stressful situations that may arise and try to engage you. Did you know that stress is one of the leading causes of weight gain? It is and it's easy to see why. If you are stressed, your body has many ways of coping with stress, including wanting to eat more! Ever hear of "comfort food"? That's just one way that the body tries to cope with stress and it can suck the energy out of you fast! Instead of giving in to stress, relax, take a deep breath, cool off, and refocus on your day. By simply doing that, you'll find that it's easy to avoid stress and when you do, you'll have the energy you need for what's most important. Fourth, drink more water! Water is a natural purifier that flushes out toxins in the kidneys and the rest of the body. By adding more water to your diet, you will allow your body work more efficiently which will affect your metabolism and give you more energy. You'll feel healthier all day long just by doing this one thing! I've just outlined four easy ways for you to lose weight or at least maintain your current weight level and feel healthy even though you may not have the time to stop at the gym and put in an hour workout. Remember, even incorporating just one of these ideas into your daily routine will keep you performing at your best all day long, guaranteed! Karl Warren is the owner of 'Fight Your Flab... Fast' - a new site dedicated to helping you achieve your perfect body. What Not to Do on a First Date!

By Camelia Fredericks I once went on a first (and last) date with a guy who broke the ice by telling me that he had been married three times, kept getting hurt and used by all, and was still living with his ex! There was moresomething about a scheme to ensure that he gets the whole matrimonial property but I was hardly listening by that point. All I could think was: Why are you telling me this?! Dating donts are things you should never do or say on a date. When the other person exhibits these dont, the sappy love soundtrack in your head goes zzzzz and the line on your heart monitor goes flat! Most of us know what you should never say on a first date. Words like still in love with my ex jump to mind. But what about the more subtle subjects youre best not touching with a yardstick? Here are some donts so deadly its guaranteed there wont be a date number two. 1. Your romantic past Never ever bring up your former flame! I remember going out on date once and whilst we were driving to the restaurant, he turned the music onsang aloud to it whilst he had tears in his eyes. About 2 minutes later, I realised that the songs were all romantic ballads and the lyrics were all about a man crying out for his lost love!!! I suggested we go for a quick drink instead and gulped down 2 gin and tonics and made the quickest exit I had ever made before. Moral of the story iswe do not want to hear about what went wrong in your past relationships (at least not on the first date), how your ex was the sexiest, most devoted or loving woman ever, what her favourite drink was or how she was always punctual for a date! If it's a blind date, DON'T compare yourself to anyone famous
Now we all know this never works the way we'd like it to. Sure, most of us have someone famous we're compared to. With me, it's usually Iman meets Jackie Brown. I can live with that. But personality-wise, apparently I'm Monica from Friends, Eva from Desperate Housewives and Samantha from Sex and the City all rolled into one! Those comparisons are obviously wrong...Ha! My point? Most people look like a more slightly distorted version of these famous stars. I have never met anyone who really looked like the fabulous celebrity they said they looked like. So proceed with caution. Unless, of course, you are drop dead gorgeous, then you can say the famous ones look like you... 2. DON'T check out other people! Ah, nothing is more that a turn-off than to be out on a date with someone and notice him checking out the girl with the cleavage right in front of your face or notice her checking that man with the most gorgeous tightest butt youve ever seen! It might not happen often, and it's usually another sign of insecurity, but if it does, I usually try to have a comment handy, maybe something like "you know, if you hurry, you can get that girl to hold the bucket of drool that's accumulating as we speak. Go ahead, I'll wait..." Please please please dont ever check someone else out when youre on date as it really is an instant turn off, unless of course, you want to do just that! 3. DONT ask them what they think of you For gosh sakes! Have some confidence! Read the signals. You will know if they are repulsed by you or attracted to you. I once had a date with a man that I had been communicating with over the phone for some time. I really liked the person he was over the phone. About 5 minutes into our first face-to-face date, he asked me if I was disappointed. At the time, I turned to him, put my hand behind his head, pulled him close enough to kiss and purred in his ear Dont ask me that again!". Had he had any clue or any confidence he would have read that very clear sign and had a chance at a second date. However, during the rest of the evening, he asked me that same question about a half dozen more times. This extreme lack of confidence made him much less attractive to me. So he stayed in the friends category (you know, the one men hate when there is no chance of sex). So men and women, dont forget, one of the most attractive qualities is confidence without arrogance. 4. DONT have sex on the first date! If he /she asks you back to their place for coffee, he/she wants to have sex (or something close). If she really fancies one last glass of pink bubbly, she should suggest a late-night bar. Likewise, if he suggests a Chinese takeaway back at his when you have to pass three Mr. Lees to get there, he wants ecstasy with his sweet and sour pork balls! You know, the older I get, the more traditional I become. Yeah, I know, it's a sign of old age (just a bit!) but I've made a few mistakes, and this one I just have to stand by. The thing is, I think this rule bothers men far more than women. Guys, if we like you a lot, and we see promise, we're going to lean towards wanting to sleep with you at some point. It doesn't mean we've had sexual relations with the entire England football team! The fact that men seem uncomfortable with sleeping with a potential Ms. Right on the first date is something I don't question, that's just the way it is. It's always better to savour anticipation! Plant Hardiness Zones

By Dean Novosat When selecting plants for the landscape, is important to select plants that will grow in your climate. The United States has 10 of growing or climate zones. These zones range from the zone 1 in the extreme northern part of United States, to his own 10, which covers the southernmost part. Zone 1, is for the most hardiest of cold weather plants. Temperatures in zone 1 can reach 50 degrees below 0. Zone 10 on the other hand, is is a more tropical climate. Zone 10 plants only need to worry about cold temperatures of 30 to 40 degrees. Your local nursery or garden center should have plants that are appropriate for your
climate zone. however, if you are buying your seeds or plants over the Internet and,
or through a catalog, you need to know which climate zone you live in. For example
southern Florida, extreme southern Texas, and parts of California, are in Zone 10.
the rest of Florida, parts of Louisiana, Texas, and much of California, or in zone 9.
Zone 8 covers much of the Southeast from eastern Virginia through the Carolinas,
Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and much of Texas. Zone 7 covers an
area a little farther north than Zone 8. states in June 7th include Delaware,
Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, in parts of Texas. Zones 5 and
6 cover much of the middle part of United States from the New England states
through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska,
Kansas, and even much of the desert Southwest, including Nevada. Zone 4 is
somewhat colder climates include states such as Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire,
northern New York State, the Wisconsin, South Dakota, states in the Rocky
Mountains, in Montana. Zone 3 includes the cold states such as northern mean,
North Dakota and Wisconsin. Zones 1and 2 are mostly found in Canada. Average minimum temperatures for each zone
Zone 1: below minus 50 degrees
Zone to:-50 degrees to minus 40 degrees
Zone 3:-40 degrees to minus 30 degrees
Zone for:-30 degrees to -23 is
Zone 5-20 degrees to minus 10 degrees
Zone 6:-10 degrees to 0 degrees
Zone 7:0 degrees to 10 degrees
Zone 8:10 degrees to 20 degrees
Zone 9:20 degrees to 30 degrees
Zone 10:30 degrees to 40 degrees Armed with this knowledge, you should be able to find a variety of plants that will
thrive in your climate zone. And if you are in doubt, talk to your local garden center.
The experts there should be able to steer you in the right direction. Dean Novosat is an avid gardener and landscaper. He has transformed many boring

The Lemon Laws

By Greg Artim Lemon cars, trucks, vans and SUVs are everywhere. Various statistics that I have seen indicate that anywhere from 1 out of 100 to 1 out of 8 vehicles are lemons. Staggering statistics, to say the least. A Lemon, by definition, is a defective vehicle. All states have Lemon Laws that provide protection to you in the event that you have purchased a lemon. These law vary from state to state, but all have common themes. The first common theme is the defective condition of the vehicle. In other words, something has to go wrong with your vehicle. The state Lemon Laws typically define what elements satisfy the defective condition requirement in order to be classified as a lemon. In Pennsylvania, for instance, the vehicle must exhibit a defect or non-conformity that substantially impairs the use, value or safety of the vehicle. In my experience, these types of defects usually consist of defective brakes, transmissions, engines, suspensions, steering and things of that nature. Claims for electrical failures, noise and leaks usually are sufficient as well. The next common theme among the state Lemon Laws is the obligation to attempt repairs. Each state Lemon Law sets forth that the manufacturer must be given a reasonable number of attempts to repair the vehicles defective condition. In Pennsylvania, that number is three. Some other states have the repair requirements set at four or more. If the Manufacturer or its agent (the dealer) cannot repair the vehicle after a reasonable number of attempts, you have a lemon. The third common theme amongst state Lemon Laws is the remedy that you are entitled to if you have a lemon. Most states provide that the consumer is entitled to a full refund of the purchase price OR a free replacement vehicle. Some states go even further. In Pennsylvania the remedy includes all collateral charges as well as the purchase price, including taxes, title charges, down payment, interest and more. If you choose the refund election you may end up getting every dollar back that you put into the vehicle. In addition, most states provide for the recovery of attorney fees and costs as well. Greg Artim is a Lemon Law Attorney based in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Please visit his website at http://www.ihatethislemon.com for more details on the Pennsylvania Lemon Law. The History of LDS Dating

By Kari Eriksson When it comes to the term LDS Dating many outsiders may first wonder what is all about. LDS dating is an abbreviation for Latter Day Saint Dating. For those of you that are not familiar with the history of this movement, here is a look at some of that history. LDS dating stems from the LDS movement which is a movement within Christian Restorationism origination from the earlier parts of the 19th century. The founder is said to have been Joseph Smith Jr who was brought up in the state of New York, probably in a region where many LDS singles are looking for their partner today through different dating services. Called The Second Great Awakening this rise of a new belief system also included big camp meeting in 1801 at Cane Ridge in Kentucky. At this meeting it is said that the participants exhibited for example different heavenly visions. The origin of all this that has lead to the large interest in LDS dating today happened on a part of the east coast of the United States called the Burned-Over District due to that so many Christian revivals were happening here at that time. A person interested in LDS dating probably has some Latter Day Saint background, but probably as with most different religions the person might be more or less adhered to the original beliefs of this church. They are said to have included the belief in the need to restore the true church of Jesus Christ. The early Latter Day Saints are also said to have believed that directy authority from God was necessary for such a restoration to happen properly. From its origins it spread to many different places, many where again we find a lot of LDS dating go on these days with most likely mainly young people looking for their mate who they wish to have the same core beliefs as themselves. Examples are Ohio, Missouri and Illionois. The orginasations then continued to grow and at times divide into different branches with similar beliefs. Today the largest domination is said to have 12 million members worldwide and probably this is part why LDS dating is a much sought after term online. So, when you head for your date with a man or woman who adhers to the beliefs of the Latter Day Saint movement you might now know some more about the backdrop of you LDS dating experience. As with any relationship, here also it would be of great help for your possible future life together to discover each others core values whatever they may be. Kari Eriksson is an infopreneur and came across the popularity of LDS dating some time back. He decided to learn more on this topic and is now gathering his learnings at http://www.lds-dating-online.com where you can find articles, links and other useful resources. Losing Pregnancy Weight

By Michael Bens Losing weight after pregnancy presents a special type of problem. At no other time in a womans life is she likely to gain as much weight in as short a period. And after having a baby, especially your first baby, life changes drastically. You might find it hard to make time to exercise. If youre nursing, you cant restrict calories. It seems as though many of the usual avenues to losing weight have been cut off. Though experts recommend that a woman gain no more than about 27 pounds during pregnancy, for some of us, thats easier said than done. Some women report that they gained weight during pregnancy regardless of how carefully they controlled their eating, even if they made a point of exercising. Some pregnancies just seem to demand weight gain interestingly, this seems to be particularly true of women who are naturally thinner than average to begin with. For a naturally skinny woman to gain what might seem to be a huge amount of weight sometimes up to sixty or even seventy pounds during pregnancy seems to be a rather common phenomenon. Pregnancy seems to change the way that food is metabolized and fat is stored. The amount of weight you gain during pregnancy may even be genetic. Of course, pregnancy food cravings also have something to do with it! Weve all heard of some of the bizarre cravings that pregnant women can get, but in fact, most crave the nutrients they need the most. Its not uncommon for a woman who is normally a vegetarian to have strong cravings for meat while she is pregnant, for instance. These are cravings you can and should give in to, because your body is telling you what it needs. Some women also find that they need to eat during the first trimester, because it keeps morning sickness at bay. Morning sickness is actually a bit of a misnomer, as it can happen at any time of day or night. It tends to happen the most when your stomach is empty and your blood sugar is low. Some women pack on the pounds during these first few months of pregnancy just to keep from feeling sick all the time. So, for one reason or another, many women find that its very difficult or impossible to control their weight gain during pregnancy. Thats not to say that you shouldnt try, of course, but if you know that youre eating healthy foods and the weight is coming on regardless, let it. Youll do more harm than good by trying to diet during pregnancy. As long as you arent binging or eating unhealthy foods, rest assured that your body has its own wisdom and you are gaining weight because you need to. Though only about ten or fifteen pounds are lost during delivery, there are plenty of opportunities to lose weight after the baby is born. For one thing, if you give it a month or so, you might find that most of the weight disappears on its own during nursing. In fact, thats one of the reasons why women are programmed to gain weight during pregnancy after the babys born, you need that extra weight. It all gets converted to milk to feed your baby. In fact, nursing full time burns about 500 calories a day the same as a good workout. At that rate, you could lose a pound a week without even trying. That having been said, there may come a time when you do have to put some effort into losing those last few pounds. After your baby is weaned, that natural means of weight loss isnt there anymore. Its time to start adding some workouts to your daily schedule. If you dont have the opportunity to exercise without the baby, take him along thats why jogging strollers were invented. Or boost your calorie burning by carrying your baby in a front or back carrier while you go for a walk or hike. The babies love it, and for you, its like carrying a constantly increasing weight around with your for hours at a time great for burning fat. After you have a baby, you may feel as though the baby has taken over your entire existence. It doesnt have to be that way. Take the time to reclaim your body and your time, and youll have more energy to take on the hectic schedule of a new mother. Employment Unauthorised Deduction of Pay

By Rosanna Cooper In the case of Atchoe v Camden Primary Care Trust [2006], the issue of unauthorised deduction of wages was heard before the Employment Tribunal. The employee worked in maintenance for the employers estates and facilities directorate. In addition, the employee was also occasionally employed out of hours when an emergency arose. This was an on-call system and was organised on a rota basis. If an employee took part he or she would receive additional payments for being on-call. If an employee was called out in an emergency he or she then received further payment for work carried out. The employees contract stipulated a number of things: * He had to show evidence that he held the technical qualifications required to work in the position of maintenance worker * He was expected to take part in the on-call system; and * The employer retained the right to vary the terms of his employment. The employer asked the employee to show evidence of his qualifications. It came into question whether the employee was able to provide this evidence. As a result of this, the employer removed the employee from the rota for the on-call system on the grounds of safety. The employee therefore no longer received the extra payment for being on-call. The employee relied on s13 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 and claimed that the employer had unlawfully deducted from his pay. The Employment Tribunal held that the employer had been entitled to remove the employee from the rota on the grounds of safety. However, it was not entitled to deduct from his pay. The Tribunal had based its decision on three authorities upon which the parties had not relied nor made submissions. The employer appealed to the Employment Appeals Tribunal (EAT). The employer submitted that the Tribunal had erred in its application of s13(3). Having found that the employer was entitled to remove the employee from the rota, the Tribunal should have found that the employer was entitled to deduct from the employees pay. As the employee was removed from the rota, he should not have continued to be paid. In addition, the employer argued that the Tribunal should not have relied on three authorities supporting its judgment upon which the parties had not had any opportunity to make submissions. The appeal was allowed for the following reasons: * The Tribunal should not have relied on any authority which the parties did not have an opportunity to make a submission. There had therefore been a material irregularity in the proceedings as neither the employer nor the employee had even mentioned the three authorities. * The Tribunal had erred in its application of s13(3). * The Tribunal should have concluded that there had been no unauthorised deduction of pay by the employer. If the employer was legally able to remove the employee from the rota, the employee was no longer entitled to the extra pay. The decision would therefore reversed. RT COOPERS, 2006. Florida Motorcycle Accident Lawyers

By Peter Emerson A personal injury is defined as bodily harm such as a broken bone, a cut or a bruise that is caused to an individual. Any kind of physical injury, including one resulting from a motorcycle accident can be classified as a personal injury. In such situations, the victims can file a court case to recover damages from the party responsible for the same. Head injuries are the root cause of death and serious injuries in motorcycle accidents. Most motorcycle casualties take place as a consequence of the recklessness or negligence of a person other than the victim, who caused the accident. Motorcycle accident claims are fairly complex to handle and requires fast and professional reaction from the plaintiff and the attorney handling the case. However, it is impossible for victims to respond fast enough and take care of all details if they have had severe health problems or disabilities as a result of the accident. The best that a victim can do in such situations is to employ a personal injury lawyer. It is advisable for them to employ a Florida lawyer who specializes in motorcycle accident cases. There are many motorcycle accident lawyers in Florida who are skilled and qualified professionals with years of experience behind them. It is essential for motorcycle accident lawyers to possess dexterity and the ability to assist their clients by offering complete legal support in claiming compensations and other legal issues. Their assistance is important to make successful compensation claims by managing the details of the case such as injury evaluation, accident reports and claim preparations. In order to obtain compensation for a victim's pain and suffering, Florida motorcycle accident lawyers are required to prove in court that the victim has been injured as the result of the neglect of another party. In addition, they must be in a position to show that as a result of the accident, the victim has incurred a loss in wages, medical expenses and suffering. Florida is gifted with some of the best personal injury lawyers and attorneys in the US. Reputed motorcycle accident lawyers in the State of Florida deal with accident cases on the basis of a contingent fee agreement. This implies that in claiming injury compensations and offering supplementary legal services, the lawyers do not charge any money unless they win the case. Cross Stitch

By Brent Shields What is this thing called cross stitch? Well...in a way, cross stitch is just like embroidery or needlepoint. But that one statement will often bring many handcrafters to the boiling point. Die hards from each type of craft think that their own craft is the best and they just don't like being compared to the others. So...to simplify things lets say that cross stitch is mainly stitching with planned x's like this xxx or angles like this ///// or this or lines like this ----- with loops and controlled knots. Now you just put the stitches together and you yourself can create some of the most beautiful gifts you have ever given to anyone. Let's Look at Some Basics Cross-Stitch has become such a popular type of handcraft that you often find the crafters no longer use a kit for their projects, they create their own. But, before you can go out on your own and start creating your own art, you will need to know more about the fabrics, thread, needles and frames. That's why most Crafters start out with a kit.
Also when you buy patterns or kits, sometimes you decide to use different fabrics and threads than what is mentioned in the projects. The following will help you to understand and adapt the patterns and materials for your own needs. Cross-Stitch Fabrics What is called counted cross-stitch can be stitched on just about anything that will allow you to make consistently even sized stitches. I have even seen people use an iron on pattern and an iron on grid to insure the even stitches they wanted. (Like on T-shirts) Aida Cloth Aida cloth is the most common of all the cross-stitch fabrics. Look close at the fabric and you will see that the woven threads are grouped and separated by little tiny spaces. This makes a pattern of squares so that even a beginner will be able to see exactly where their cross-stitches need to be placed. Aida cloth comes in 6,8,11,14,16 and 18 count threads but 14 count is the most often used thread count for the beginner. Aida cloth comes in a variety of colors and threads counts and for the beginner they even have (in the white cloth only) a removable grid of pre-basted threads. Now how about that for being helpful? Linen Over all, because of the price, linen is considered to be an excellent fabric to work with by the more experienced cross-stitchers. The threads that they use to weave the linen cause a slightly irregular thickness to work on. And when you buy linen you need to remember that most designs are stitched over two threads so, 28-count linen will work out a 14 stitches per square inch. Linen is made in counts of 14 to 40 count so at 14 you would have 7 stitches per square inch and at 40 you would have 20 stitches per square inch. Sweaters Sweaters are an excellent background for cross-stitch. Just by basting a grid onto the sweater you will be able to have the even consistent stitches you want. But don't try cross-stitching on knits without the grid because knit stitches are not square. They are wider than they are tall and your design will appear broader and shorten than the pattern you are working from. Burlap Burlap can be counted and stitched as easily as any other traditional cross-stitch fabric. And if you are working a country style pattern it will give you that little extra something we all look for in the work we do. Evenweave Fabric The recent popularity of cross-stitching has created a need for specialty fabrics. These fabrics are called evenweave fabrics because they are woven from threads of a consistent diameter. Most of the evenweave fabrics are counted by so many threads by the inch and are worked much like the linen fabrics. Needlepoint Canvas Quite often needlepoint canvas is used for cross-stitch, especially on clothing and things that are not suitable alone. In fact waste canvas is designed to unravel when dampened. And the count runs from 6 1/2 to 20 stitches per inch. Hardanger Fabric Now hardanger fabric is used for the extra fine cross-stitch. This is the traditional fabric used for the famous Norwegian embroidery of the same name. This weave produces 22 small squares per inch. Threads for Cross-Stitching Most threads used for embroidery can be used for cross-stitching, just separate the threads into ones, twos, threes, fours, etc, etc. The more threads you use the richer the work will look, the less threads the more fragile it will look. The rayon or silk floss will give your work a shine or slick look but sometimes they are more difficult to use as they tend to tangle. Pearl cotton is also a high sheen. Flower Thread and Other Specialty Threads Flower thread is 100% cotton with a matte finish and is used as a single thread (same as two ply). Over dyed threads are introduced on the market almost everyday. Most of them give that one of a kind appearance because of their irregularly variegated colors. All of the threads I have mentioned so far are available in this form also. They are great for when you want to change colors without having the need to change threads. Yarn and Ribbon When working with the large projects you can use yarn, ribbon and even strips of fabric to give your work your own personal touch. The larger the squares the larger ply thread you can use. Needles Generally blunt pointed needles are better for working on most cross-stitch fabrics because they slip through the holes and threads without snagging and splitting the fibers. There is one exception to this rule, when working with waste canvas you will need to use the sharp embroidery type needles. And a lot of companies sell the blunt needles labeled "Cross-stitch" but they are identical the the tapestry needles which have a much larger selection to choose from. The First Pattern Your first pattern should be something small and simple, so you would be better off starting out with a small kit. It's kind of like using training wheels on your first bike... it will give you a little security. Besides it comes with needles, floss, fabric and anything else you need to complete your first project. Good luck and happy stitching. Can Supplements Help With Anxiety Attacks?

By Shane Baxter Anxiety and panic disorders are one of the most common mental health problems among American adults. They can take a number of forms including agoraphobia, panic attacks, social anxiety disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. They can be a result of both environmental conditions and heredity. For many years, these disorders have been treated with various prescription drugs and several types of therapy. These forms of treatment do have some drawbacks, however. Medication can often cause unwanted side effects, therapy can take considerable time, and both can be quite expensive. As a result, alternative forms of treatment are becoming more and more common. Of course, before embarking on any kind of treatment program, your first step should be to consult with your doctor. Supplements may be helpful but your doctor will be able to give you a thorough diagnosis and offer the best treatment program for your particular case. Some symptoms of anxiety and panic can be signs of serious physical conditions that must be treated properly. Supplements are often ineffective in these situations. One of the more popular supplements that people use to calm their anxiety is Chamomile tea. It can either be brewed as a drink or taken in capsule form. Valerian root is a centuries-old treatment for sleep problems like insomnia. Its calming effects can also have a positive effect on anxiety and panic problems. Its effect have been compared to those of the prescription drug Prozac, but without the severe side effects. If the idea of prescription medications is uncomfortable for you, these alternative forms of treatment may be just what you need. Always discuss them with your doctor, however, to be sure that they are safe for you to take. Shane Baxter writes about panic and anxiety attacks for the Anxiety Action website. When It Comes To Some Of The Popular Myths About Hair, Don't Believe Everything You Hear

By Gregg Hall Many of us have heard a few hair myths, but which ones should we believe. Are the myths really just a myth, or are some of them true? There are some things that you can do to damage or cause hair loss, and there are some things that are not bad for your hair. Don't believe everything you hear about your hair though, there are some pretty crazy myths out there. Here are a few of the common myths we thought we would straighten out for you. First myth we want to correct would be the myth that cutting your hair will cause it to become thicker. This is not true. The thickness of your hair cannot be altered by cutting it either, even though it may appear too. If you think your hair looks thicker it may be because your hair is thicker at the base than it is at the tip. The only thing you can do try to thicken your hair would be a texturizing perm or dye, or volumizing shampoo. Cutting your will also not cause it to grow faster, neither will brushing it one hundred strokes a day. If you brush your hair this much you may actually cause more damage and breakage to your hair. Hair usually responds better when you use a comb anyway. Next are a couple of myths about shampoo and conditioner. With shampoo you only need about a quarter size to get your hair clean. If you have very long hair you may need a little more, but not too much. All that extra shampoo is not doing you any good. Next is how often you wash your hair. Washing your hair everyday will not harm it if you have the right shampoo for your type of hair. Washing your hair can actually make it healthier. Conditioner does not repair split ends. Yes that's right, it does not repair. Conditioner may make the hair look as though it is less damaged, but it does not repair the damage. A good conditioner may also help protect your hair from future damage. Here are a few myths about things that do not cause hair loss. Dying, perming, blow drying and sun exposure do not cause hair loss. It is true that dying and perming your hair may cause damage to your hair, especially if you over do it, but it will not cause hair loss. Blow drying can also damage your hair by burning it or drying which may cause it to fall out, but the hair will grow right back. In order for the sun to cause hair loss it would have to affect the follicle, which it doesn't. Here are a couple of things that may cause hair loss so pay attention. Stress, diet, and tight hairstyles are all linked to hair loss. If you are extremely stressed you may suffer from temporary hair loss. Once the stress has passed the scalp usually recovers and the hair returns to normal. Diet can also cause hair loss, so make sure you are eating healthy to keep your body healthy and functioning properly. Tight hairstyles that are worn for long periods of time can damage and break the hair and cause tension to the scalp. In some cases this hair loss has become permanent. This of course is from wearing your hair like this all the time, but be sure you are aware of the damage you can cause. A more relaxed hair style will benefit your scalp and your hair. Smokers are you ready for this? Smoking can cause your hair to turn gray or fall out faster. Studies have shown that smokers are four times more likely to get gray hair than women who don't smoke. Smoking has been shown to speed up hair loss too. If you needed another reason to stop smoking here it is. Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Florida. Preformed Ponds Manufactured from New Rubber/Plastic Composite More Durable and Resistant to Wear

By Gerry Fung Traditionally, liner kits have presented many difficulties for the beginner pond gardener. Since every liner pond shape is different, pond gardeners must customize their own pond, ensure that it is level, and ensure that it does not have excessive wrinkling. A flexible preformed pond, on the other hand, is easy to install. The flexible preformed shell already has a pre-defined shape, yet it is easily transportable, since a typical folding kit comes in a box that can fit into your car truck (I.e. it is one-sixth the size of a regular preformed kit). Thus, installation involves merely removing the pond from the kit, unfolding it, digging a hole, and inserting the pond shell into the hole. One common complaint of customers in the past has been that flexible pond shells have been difficult to unfold. To address this problem, as of January 2006, Algreen Products has introduced a new line of flexible preformed pond kits which are manufactured from a novel blend of rubber, nylon, and plastic. Using the new rubber-based composite, Algreens ponds are now extremely easy to unfold. Because of the flexibility offered by the rubber component, which is supplemented by the stiffness offered by the plastic component, the ponds are also many times more resistant to breakage and wear. According to Melissa Mulligan, sales and marketing director at Algreen Products, This new innovation makes our flexible ponds easier to unfold, more durable, and more resistant to wear and breakage this composite will revolutionize the preformed pond business. Algreen is currently incorporating the proprietary composite material into their line of folding pond shells and streamlets. The new pond shells and streamlets are being introduced in a black colour, and are currently available from www.buypond.com. The composite has also been introduced in their 144 gallon granite pond kits. Each Algreen pond kit comes complete with:
A rubber/plastic composite pond shell and streamlet (sizes detailed above).
A SuperFlo submersible pump with a built-in pre-filter, telescopic riser, and a diverter.
Fountain heads that allow you to set up a fountain in the middle of your pond.
Tubing and clamps.
2 silk pond lilies.
A 20-year manufacturers warranty on the pond/streamlet, and a 2-year manufacturers warranty on the pump.
A free SuperGlo underwater light!

7 Tips on Positioning Your Indoor Pot Plants - From a South African Perspective

By Andrew Smit There are very few places is a home where pot plants will not grow. It must be remembered, however, that not every position will suit all plants. Indoor plants fall into three somewhat loose categories: those that have low, moderate or high light requirements. If you have identified a place in your home that you would like to liven up with plants, first assess how much ambient light there is. You can then do a little research into what plant type might best suit the desired space. Remember you can always supplement the available light with artificial light. This is especially useful in winter to keep plants healthy. Specialised grow lights are available from most large supermarkets or hardware stores. 1. Most indoor plants, even if they need bright light, do not tolerate direct sunlight, especially midday or afternoon light. 2. Flowering plants generally need more light than plants grown for their foliage. 3. Short-day plants like poinsettias and chrysanthemums have very specific light requirements if you want them to re-flower 4. The light intensity rapidly decreases the further away you move from the source i.e. a window. For example the light 2,5m from a window is about 5 percent of that on the window sill. 5. If you have a rather dark corner that needs brightening, do not be discouraged. There are many plants that do well without much light. 6. Do not suddenly move a plant from a dull to a bright position, but gradually accustom it to stronger light. 7. In summer net curtains help to diffuse the light. http://www.turtleherbestate.co.za where you will find Global solutions and ideas. Capital Budgeting

By Elizabeth Morgan Capital budgeting is a process of planning expenditures incurred on assets whose cash flow is expected to range beyond one year. In other words, it is defined as a process that requires planning for setting up budgets on projects expected to have long-term implications. It can be used for processes such as the purchase of new equipment or launching of a new product in the market. Businesses prefer to intricately study a project before taking it on, as it has a great impact on the companys financial performance. Some of the projects that use capital budgeting are investments in property, plants, and equipment, large advertising campaigns, and research and development projects. The success of a business depends on the capital budgeting decisions taken by the management. The management of a company should analyze various factors before taking on a large project. Firstly, management should always keep in mind that capital expenditures require large outlays of funds. Secondly, firms should find modes to ascertain the best way to raise and repay the funds. The management should also keep in mind that capital budgeting requires a long-term commitment. The requirement for relevant information and analysis of capital budgeting has paved the way for a series of models to assist firms in amassing the best of the allocated resources. One of the oldest methods used is the payback model; the process determines the length of time required for a business to recover its cash outlay. Another model, known as return on investment, evaluates the project based on standard historical cost accounting estimates. Popular methods of capital budgeting include net present value (NPV), discounted cash flow (DCF), internal rate of return (IRR), and payback period. While working with capital budgeting, a firm is involved in valuation of its business. By valuation, cash flow is identified and discounted at the present market value. In capital budgeting, valuation techniques are undertaken to analyze the impact of assets instead of financial assets. The importance of capital budgeting is not the mechanics used, such as NPV and IRR, but is the varying key involved in forecasting cash flow. The importance of capital budgeting is not only its mechanics, but also the parameters of forecasting the incurrence of cash in the business. Budgeting provides detailed information on Budgeting, Budgeting Software, Capital Budgeting, Personal Budgeting and more. Budgeting is affiliated with Home Grants. What Tools Do You Need For Beginning Patchwork?

By Pauline Rogers The tools you use can help you enjoy your hobby or cause you to abandon a project before completion. Many quilters spend hours of discouraging drudgery until they discover the tools of the trade, and the proper way to use them. It is possible to make a quilt with a dull pair of scissors and the measuring tape scrounged from the hubby's toolbox. Why would you want to make things so hard for yourself? If you are able to persevere, the resultant quilt will be much less than satisfactory. There is an endless variety of patchwork and quilting tools available. This can be daunting to the beginner. As you build your experience up you can add to your tool collection but there are certain "must have" tools necessary to get you started. The rotary cutter is the best invention ever for cutting all those pieces for patchwork. Rotary cutters come in many sizes. The medium sized rotary cutter is the most used, as it is great for single or multi layer. The jumbo rotary cutter is ideal for cutting through multiple layers. The mini cutter is superb for cutting around curves and trimming square triangles back to size. Self-healing cutting matsspecially designed for use with rotary cutters. The mats come in many different sizes. The recommended size for most quilting work is 18" x 24". The mat protects the rotary cutter from damage, prevents harm of the surface where you are cutting and helps keep the fabric from slipping about. Most mats have grid lines which aid in placing the fabric. A proper ruler is essential for ease and accuracy. Of the many rulers available, Creative Grid Rulers are outstanding. The white and black lines are easy to see on any colour fabric. The best advantage that these rulers have, are the built in grips that eliminate slipping of fabric. These two features make tasks much easier. Utility scissors are required for cutting paper for use in foundation paper piecing, cutting out patterns for appliqu and clipping threads. Good quality 8" fabric scissors, for use in cutting just fabric. Don't use these scissors for anything but fabric, as that "just this once" to cut a little bit of paper will soon result in needing a new pair. A sewing machine is necessary for easy piecing. The machine should help you effortlessly sew a " seam allowance. Iron and ironing board for pressing and setting seams. Pins may be small but they are essential.Clover Flower Head Pins work exceptionally well for foundation piecing and are ideal in preventing your fabric from moving when you are cutting. Pauline Rogers has travelled throughout Australia and New Zealand for over 20 years, teaching the art of patchwork and quilting. She operates an award winning shop, Country Fabrics and Quilters, in Toowoomba, Queensland as well as a successful mail order and online service.
